In everything we do, we’re committed to artistic integrity, transparency, and entrepreneurship.

Sony Music Entertainment is a member of the Sony family of global companies.

We're looking for a New York-based Senior Product Designer to own the design vision for our Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) product area within our Product Design Engineering and Global Operations (or PDEGO) organization.

Sony Music's product design team has traditionally focused on B2B - internal tools and suite applications used by Sony employees, labels, and artists. This role expands that scope. You'll work across both sides: the internal tools that power D2C operations, and consumer-facing artist storefronts built on Shopify, with custom extensions on top. You'll be the long-term design owner of that consumer experience.

What you'll do:

  •  Design internal D2C tools including a multi-store management dashboard, batch workflows, and ops data views
  • Connect the ecosystem by integrating Shopify data into our existing suite applications.
  • Own the Shopify storefront by overseeing agency build, then serving as long-term design owner of the consumer experience
  • Build custom Shopify apps that extend platform capabilities (bundles, tracklist display, and more)
  • Create analytics dashboards surfacing the right ecommerce metrics for operators and leadership
  • Lead discovery alongside PM and engineering, researching fan and operator needs and shipping from there

Who you are:

  • You have ecommerce fluency. You understand storefront design, shopping flows, and what drives conversion and trust for fans
  • Experience designing both B2B tools and consumer-facing products; this role requires both
  •  Comfort with analytics and data-heavy UIs, and a sense for which ecommerce metrics matter
  • Exceptional visual and UI craft across consumer storefronts and internal tools
  • Strong research skills and the ability to advocate for both fan needs and operator needs
  • Systems thinking across many tools, integrations, and user types
  • Clear communication with stakeholders and exec audiences

What we give you:

  • You join an inclusive, collaborative and global community where you have the opportunity to channel your passion every day
  • A modern office environment designed to foster productivity, creativity, and teamwork empowering you to bring your best
  • An attractive and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life & disability coverage, and 401K + employer matching
  • Voluntary benefits like company-paid identity theft protection and resources for pets, mental health and meditation resources, industry-leading fertility coverage, fully paid leave for childbirth or bonding, fully paid leave for caregivers, programs for loved ones with developmental disabilities and neurodiversity, subsidized back-up child and elder care, and reimbursement for adoption, surrogacy, tuition, and student loans
  • Investment in your professional growth and development enabling you to thrive in our vibrant community.
  • The space to accelerate progress, positively disrupt, and create what happens next
  • Time off for a winter recess

The anticipated annual base salary does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.  The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
