Some of the most important progress doesn't always happen on a worksheet.

It might be a pupil communicating something for the first time, developing a new skill, becoming more independent or simply finding the confidence to engage with the world around them.

As a Specialist Teacher working with pupils with PMLD and complex learning needs, you'll have the opportunity to make those moments happen every day.

Parker Smith Inclusion is working with a specialist SEND school in Harrow that is looking for a passionate and committed teacher to join its dedicated team.

A role where every lesson has purpose

You'll take responsibility for your own class, creating engaging and personalised learning experiences that reflect the individual needs, strengths and aspirations of your pupils.

Your teaching will go beyond traditional academic learning. You'll help pupils develop communication, independence, social skills, confidence and practical abilities that can have a lasting impact on their lives.

You'll work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families and other professionals to ensure every pupil receives a consistent and personalised approach.

What you'll be doing

• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised and differentiated lessons.

• Adapt teaching approaches, resources and activities to individual needs.

• Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress.

• Lead and develop your classroom team.

• Create a calm, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.

• Promote communication, independence and social development.

• Work collaboratively with parents, carers, therapists and specialist professionals.

• Contribute to curriculum development and wider school initiatives.

• Help pupils develop skills that prepare them for greater independence and adulthood.

You don't have to be an experienced PMLD teacher

We're particularly interested in teachers who are passionate about making a genuine difference.
