Working Location: Doha, Qatar
Contract Type: Secondment contract until 31 October 2029
Work Schedule: 5.5 months working on / 2 weeks off

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Hydrographic Surveying or equivalent.

Experience

• Minimum of 12 years' experience in the Oil & Gas industry on offshore topographic survey operations.
• At least 7 years as a party chief surveyor in a major project with a reputable survey contractor, EPIC contractor, or Oil & Gas company.
• Fully familiar with international surveying codes, standards, techniques, and survey software.
• Familiar with all types of FEED and EPIC deliverables, equipment, design, and construction progress reviews.
• Experienced in implementing industry best practices and company systems, processes, and standards.
• Proficient in offshore surveying with strong technical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Project management, conflict resolution, and negotiating skills.
• Good understanding of safety, environmental, and QA/QC requirements and implications of non-compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, plan, and programme offshore surveying activities including geophysical, geotechnical, ROV, and oceanographic surveys.
• Responsible for the definition, contracting, execution, and acceptance of offshore survey data for projects.
• Ensure safe execution of all offshore surveying and data acquisition activities.
• Define, monitor, and ensure the standard and quality of all offshore survey processes to provide maximum benefit and align with objectives.
• Meet both short and long-term offshore survey requirements for offshore field support and provide appropriate end user technical support.
• Support the selection of suitable equipment, field devices, and other surveying-specific systems as per design; evaluate options and select the best techno-economic solutions for project facilities.
• Provide technical input and prepare project-specific survey scope for tenders and procurement activities; draw up related technical bid evaluation criteria and participate in evaluation of technical bid proposals.
• Coordinate all survey activities (geophysical, geotechnical, oceanography, ROV) connected with FEED/EPIC contracts; represent interests and resolve any survey-related technical queries including interpretation of scope, specifications, and standards.
• Control and witness the mobilization of survey vessels and equipment calibration activities; evaluate and approve offshore survey equipment and personnel for proposed work.
• Monitor performance of contractors and sub-contractors engaged in acquisition of survey-related data; ensure survey data is acquired and produced in accordance with approved specifications and quality plans.
• Review and approve survey-related deliverables from contractors related to engineering and construction activities of offshore projects (covering jackets, platforms, pipelines, cables, and all other surface and subsea structures); manage project-specific geo-referred databases and ensure GIS data integrity is maintained.
• Provide technical input related to surveys during FEED, detailed engineering, pre- and post-installation, and as-built stages of the project; monitor implementation of QA/QC processes to achieve deliverables that meet project requirements.
• Support safety and design reviews in coordination with lead engineers and other stakeholders.
• Support the development of Qatari Nationals by ensuring they receive proper job training and development.
