Staff UX Designer Lead, Studio Content Publishing

You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products. User experience is at the forefront of how we create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful products that people love. We strive to learn and understand our users’ needs, behaviors, and emotions to gather insights that inform product strategy and design. Our UX teams include designers, researchers, content strategists, and engineers who are passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity. We work on collaborative teams to solve complex challenges and craft experiences that highlight our products’ unique capabilities and personalities. Responsibilities:

• Modernize core upload and publish flows, smart drafts, and comprehensive metadata editing to take the anxiety and friction out of publishing. Lead the design of intuitive interfaces that ensure creators can confidently and efficiently publish their content.
• Craft intelligent, Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered tools and optimizations for titles, thumbnails, tags, and metadata that maximize a creator’s reach and audience engagement. Transform complex machine learning models into accessible, actionable insights for creators.
• Empower storytelling through advanced capabilities like title and thumbnail A/B testing and seamless integrations with powerful video editing platforms. Streamline creator workflows from creation through post-production.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in product design or User Experience (UX).
• Experience designing creator tools, video editing workflows, content management systems (CMS), or media publishing platforms.
• Experience leading and mentoring cross-functional UX designers and managing multi-year product design goals.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12 years of experience in product design or UX.
• 5 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
