UX Designer, YouTube Shopping Creator

You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

YouTube Shopping allows viewers to shop products directly from their favorite Creators. We are a rapidly expanding team, with growth goals and a culture for shipping and learning quickly. This role is for the Creator actor, focused on creating tools that empower YouTube creators to share products with their fans and grow their business. As a UX Designer on the team, you will be responsible to help creators grow their businesses by selling their own products or from other brands (affiliates), across many formats (Long video format, Shorts, live streams, posts.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements, and provide creative, thoughtful solutions.
  
• Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, or prototypes.
  
• Advocate for the prioritization of design centered changes, refinements, and improvements.
  
• Design new shopping experiences for Viewers, including user flows, wireframes, mocks, and functional prototypes.
• Leverage User Experience Researcher (UXR) partnership to deepen the team’s understanding of shopping behavior, decision-making and growing needs.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 4 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 2 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
  
• 1 year of experience leading design projects.
  
• Experience with Figma and other design tools to produce mockups and prototypes.
• Track record of designing and launching consumer products.
