Trade Compliance Legal Talent

We are currently seeking Trade Compliance & Sanctions Legal Talent to work with Axiom clients across a range of industries, supporting trade compliance, export controls, sanctions, import controls and related regulatory matters.

Responsibilities:

• Provide practical, business-focused advice on trade compliance matters, including export controls, import controls, economic sanctions, licensing and wider regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement and support trade compliance programmes, policies, procedures, training and monitoring processes.
• Review trade documentation, support product classification and screening processes, and assist with export licences, registrations, audits and regulatory approvals where required.
• Work closely with legal, compliance, risk, supply chain, procurement, logistics and business teams to identify risk, manage regulatory change and deliver pragmatic solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Qualified lawyer eligible to practise in the UK or an experienced trade compliance, sanctions or export-controls professional with relevant UK experience.
• Experience in one or more areas of trade compliance, including export controls, import controls, sanctions, customs, product classification, licensing, screening or compliance programmes.
• Experience gained in-house, in private practice, within a regulated business, consultancy, professional-services environment or other international trade-focused organisation.
• Strong commercial awareness, regulatory judgment, stakeholder-management, communication and analytical skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical and business-focused support.
