What you'll do

  • Work onsite at our datacenters in Sydney.
  • Carry out basic operational tasks such as site rounds, recording observations, and taking measurements under supervision.
  • Learn to operate critical systems safely and professionally, with the opportunity to earn your Microsoft CET Level 1 certification.
  • Monitor and inspect facility equipment (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety systems) and report abnormal conditions.
  • Use our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track assets and manage work orders.
  • Assist with emergency monitoring and response following established procedures.
  • Support incident investigations by gathering data and contributing to root-cause analysis.
  • Participate in planned, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities, including preparing materials and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with senior technicians to troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Document maintenance and troubleshooting activities and escalate issues as needed.
  • Contribute to developing Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for safe operations.
  • Conduct technical research on relevant topics to enhance your knowledge.

Responsibilities

As a CET Intern, you will:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completed or studying towards a qualification in Facilities Management, Mechanical, Electrical engineering or related qualification.
