Job Title HR Manager Summary We are looking for an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to lead the HR function from our Teesside office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an engineering or project-delivery environment and wants to shape practical HR solutions for a growing organisation. You’ll play a key role in managing employee relations, driving engagement, and delivering robust HR policies to support future growth. Location and Working Pattern Office-based in Teesside with site engagement as needed. Client Overview Our client delivers engineering and construction services for major infrastructure projects across multiple sectors, including Offshore Wind, Power & Renewables, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Defence, and Data Centres. They work in close partnership with their clients to provide proven solutions to some of the most complex engineering challenges. ResponsibilitiesLead, manage, and develop the HR team, ensuring accountability for delivery.Handle employee relations issues professionally, including disciplinary and grievance cases.Partner with operational leaders on workforce planning across multiple projects.Design and implement proportionate HR policies and procedures to support business needs.Oversee recruitment and resourcing for office and project-based teams.Manage pay, terms and conditions for site staff, including application of NAECI where relevant.Drive employee engagement, culture, and retention initiatives.Ensure compliance with employment legislation and support HSQE on people-related matters.Report on HR metrics, workforce risk, and trends to the senior leadership team.Must-have RequirementsProven HR management experience within engineering, construction, or a similar sector.Strong working knowledge of UK employment law.Confidence to manage employee relations cases effectively.Previous experience managing and developing a team.Ability to communicate assertively and influence stakeholders at all levels.Track record of implementing practical HR policy suitable for a growing business.Nice-to-have SkillsFamiliarity with the NAECI (National Agreement for the Engineering Construction Industry).CIPD qualification or equivalent.Experience supporting a mobile or site-based workforce.Apply Now If you’re ready to take ownership of HR in a growing engineering business and make a real impact, apply today to join as our new HR Manager.The NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
