Ventia is seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Production Clerk to join our Defence Maintenance Centre (DMC) team at Ross Island Barracks in Townsville.

Supporting Trade Repair Officers and technical teams, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring maintenance activities are planned, coordinated and delivered efficiently through the provision of administrative, procurement and logistical support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with administration, procurement, finance or logistics experience looking to build a career within Defence support services.

About the Role

As Production Clerk, you’ll provide essential administrative support across maintenance operations, helping coordinate repair parts, manage documentation, process purchasing activities and maintain accurate records.

Working closely with planners, technical teams and stakeholders, you’ll help ensure maintenance activities remain on track while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the Defence Maintenance Centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Raise and process purchase requisitions and approvals
• Review supplier quotes and support procurement activities
• Manage maintenance orders and related documentation
• Coordinate repair parts and logistics requirements
• Support planning and scheduling of maintenance activities
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records across business systems
• Prepare work schedules, work tickets and supporting documentation
• Assist with inventory management and material requisitions
• Provide administrative support to technical and trade repair teams
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency

About You

You are a proactive administrator who enjoys working in a structured environment where accuracy, organisation and teamwork are essential.

You will bring:

• Experience in administration, procurement, finance, auditing, logistics or a similar support role
• Strong data entry and record management skills
• Experience processing purchase requisitions, purchase orders or approvals
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
• Experience working with databases, ERP or asset management systems
• SAP S/4HANA experience will be highly regarded
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 6:30am – 3:00pm
• Friday: 6:30am – 12:30pm
• Some flexibility available

Essential Requirements

• Australian Citizenship is mandatory
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Baseline Security Clearance
• Current Driver’s Licence
• National Police Check
