(image) The Team: The North West Regional Hospital- Intensive Care Unit are seeking dedicated and suitably experienced Critical Care Nurses to join the team and work in a Clinical Coach position. ICU is a specialized area that requires skilled staff to care for critically unwell patients requiring organ support via ventilation, continuous renal replacement therapy and haemodynamic support. The Unit has a case mix of primarily adult patients but also cares for paediatric patients requiring ICU level support. A MET and Code Blue service is also provided to the NWRH and adjoining NWPH. The Role: The Clinical Coach is a senior clinical critical care nurse who combines clinical expertise with education and leadership skills to develop novice nurses in the critical care setting. The role focuses on clinical supervision, coaching, competency assessment, professional development, and promoting safe, evidence-based practice while working closely with the ICU Nurse Unit Manager and education team to build workforce capability and improve patient outcomes. The role will mainly entail an 'at the bedside educator and professional development lead' who helps transition novice and less experienced nurses into competent, confident clinicians while supporting service quality and workforce retention. Application of clinical knowledge, skills , problem solving and critical thinking will also be key to this role. Key Capability Areas Precepting & Mentoring Competency Assessment Clinical Education Leadership & Workforce Development Quality & Safety Evidence-Based Practice Communication & Collaboration You will need: Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing/midwifery principles, procedures, and evidence-based practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a relevant clinical setting and in line with legal requirements, the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), Registered Nurse or Midwife Standards for Practice and other relevant professional standards. Demonstrated ability to use clinical coaching principles to support professional and clinical development of novice nurses and midwives. Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership to support the nursing or midwifery management team, and to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Proven interpersonal, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills, and the ability to provide positive and constructive feedback to novices. Salary: $102,439 to $109,175 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
