What you'll do

  • Supervise Stewarding Ambassadors during allocated shifts and support the Chief Steward in coordinating daily operations.
  • Allocate duties according to hotel occupancy, outlet activity, functions, service periods and cleaning priorities.
  • Conduct clear pre-shift briefings and maintain effective operational handovers.
  • Work alongside the team during busy periods, providing practical support and demonstrating the standards expected.
  • Implement and monitor daily, weekly and periodic cleaning schedules across kitchens and back-of-house areas.
  • Inspect completed work and address any cleaning, sanitation or organisational concerns promptly.
  • Monitor dishwasher and glasswasher temperatures, chemical dosing and required HACCP documentation.
  • Ensure all stewarding activities comply with food safety, hygiene, chemical-handling and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Train, coach and provide constructive feedback to Stewarding Ambassadors.
  • Monitor serviceware and cleaning-supply levels and accurately record breakages, losses and equipment damage.
  • Coordinate the safe handling, cleaning, transportation and storage of china, glassware, cutlery, kitchen utensils and banquet equipment.
  • Promote responsible waste separation, recycling and the efficient use of water, electricity and cleaning supplies.

Job Description

Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach is seeking a dedicated Stewarding Supervisor to support the daily operation of our Stewarding Department. This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role within a luxury hotel environment, guiding our Stewarding Ambassadors while ensuring our kitchens and back-of-house areas remain safe, hygienic, organised and fully prepared to support outstanding guest experiences.

Reporting to the Chief Steward, you will combine operational stewarding duties with shift supervision, task allocation, quality inspections, training and compliance responsibilities.
