Job Description

The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisor provides subject matter expertise and practical support to Site Leadership across one or more assigned manufacturing sites. The role supports the implementation of Group HSE policies, procedures and initiatives to foster safe, healthy and environmentally sustainable workplaces.

The position provides a connection between site, divisional and Group HSE activities and supports the consistent implementation of Group HSE systems across the assigned sites. It also supports compliance with relevant Australian health, safety, environmental and sustainability legislation, regulations and industry standards.

The role is primarily site based and requires a regular, visible presence across the assigned manufacturing sites. The allocation of sites may change in response to business priorities, risk profile and operational needs. Travel between sites will be required.

Available shift: Part – time 22.8 hours per week – 3 Days

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Support the implementation of HSE&S standards, policies, and procedures across assigned sites.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring timely corrective actions.
• Maintain a regular site presence to coach leaders, engage employees, and verify critical controls.
• Provide expert HSE&S advice and support to site leadership teams.
• Lead or support incident investigations and drive effective corrective actions.
• Deliver HSE&S training and coaching to build capability and accountability.
• Monitor HSE&S performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, and Group HSE&S requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to embed HSE&S into everyday operations.
• Prioritise activities using a risk-based approach and escalate significant issues where required.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• Experience in HSE&S within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian HSE&S legislation and requirements.
• Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• The ability to influence and support teams across multiple sites.
• A current driver's licence and willingness to travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, sustainability, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or Diploma of Work Health and Safety are advantageous.
• Training and certifications in specific Australian regulations and standards relevant to manufacturing operations (e.g., WHS Act, AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018) are preferred.
